Back Arsenal to win the 2024/25 Premier League

The English Premier League season is finally back upon us after a busy summer of soccer at the European Championships and Copa America, with one of the top domestic leagues set for another long campaign.

Last year Manchester City made history as they sealed their fourth consecutive Premier League title on the final day of the season, becoming the first team ever to do so. But the summer transfer window has seen their rivals strengthen and attempt to close the gap, which should make for an exciting title race.

We'll take a look at the upcoming season and preview the season as we provide our best free soccer betting picks to try and earn you some extra cash while you enjoy the action on the pitch.

English Premier League favorites

Below you'll find a list of favorites to win the English Premier League in the 2024/25 season.

Manchester City - (+145)

Having won the last four domestic titles in England, it's no surprise that Pep Guardiola's side are the favorites before a ball has been kicked.

City have added exciting winger Savinho to their squad from Girona, but have sold World Cup winner Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid for an incredible $103.7million and more exits are expected before the transfer window closes on August 30th with Kalvin Phillips, Joao Cancelo and Matheus Nunes linked with moves away.

There has been little talk of arrivals either, although things can change quickly, but there is an argument that the squad is actually weaker this season since key players like Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva are older.

The team did have success at Wembley in the Community Shield with a penalty shootout win over Manchester United in the season curtain raiser to show they will still be in the conversation, but the value isn't there to back them again.

Arsenal - (+185)

The biggest rivals towards Man City's dominance in the most recent seasons has been Mikel Arteta's Arsenal, who finished as runners-up in each of the last two campaigns.

The Gunners led the race for the title for the majority of the season but lost it towards the end, and have since moved to strengthen their squad to avoid it happening again. Goalkeeper David Raya won the Golden Glove award last season and has since made his loan move from Brentford permanent, while Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori has joined the club from Bologna. They are also in talks to sign Spaniard Mikel Merino to strengthen the midfield.

First-team forward Emile Smith Rowe has left the club while the futures of Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson are in question, but the team's key players are younger than Man City's and improving which suggests they could be stronger than last year.

At +185 there is solid value in the team finally ending their trophy drought, and to us they're the team to back early on for the best value.

Liverpool - (+700)

Liverpool have been one of the top teams in Europe over recent years, but they are now undergoing a huge change this summer after long-term coach Jurgen Klopp and his backroom staff left after almost a decade in charge.

Dutchman Arne Slot has come in and replaced him as boss, and the team have overseen an undefeated pre-season to suggest things are going well, but the team has failed to strengthen so far in the transfer window with zero first-team arrivals.

There will be big question marks around the performance of key players such as Mohammed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold in the new system too, and it remains to be seen how the manager will adapt to the Premier League's intensity and busy schedule.

The squad has the talent to be successful and the players have won plenty before, but it's highly unlikely that a new manager comes into the league and wins the title at the first attempt so this is a bet to avoid even if you're looking for good value.

Manchester United - (+2200)

Once again the Red Devils are being mentioned in the title race, despite their worst Premier League season ever coming in 2023/24.

Erik Ten Hag survived a summer of speculation about his future despite winning a second trophy in two years, and the team have now added Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui to the squad in a bid to bolster their options. More arrivals are expected too before the deadline but there is a big gap for them to close on the pitch in such a short period of time.

The chances of them winning the league for the first time since 2013 are very slim, but they are the team who have strengthened the most among the contenders at the time of writing.

At +2200 it may be worth a small bet just in case they pull off a huge surprise, but don't hold your breath on it coming in at the end of the season.
