Formula 1 is back for the 20th race of the 2024 season in Mexico City, Mexico as the race for the world championship continues to heat up between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris in particular.
The current three-time world champion had an excellent start to his season but has struggled in recent months, while the Briton has gone from strength to strength and continues to stay on the chase for his first title after a controversial end to the USA Grand Prix last time out.
We’ll take a look ahead to the race and see if we can provide you with some extra cash for the season with our best free F1 betting picks, and see if there is any value in backing anyone but the reigning champion.

F1 Mexico Grand Prix favorites
Below you'll find a list of the favorites to win the Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix.
Lando Norris - (+275)
Norris has really found his groove in recent times and it's not a shock that he is pushing to claim his first ever Drivers' Championship in Formula 1 as we enter the final five races of the season.
After picking up his first-ever grand prix win back in Miami, he has since won in the Netherlands and in Singapore, while also securing podium finishes in Australia, Emilia Romagna, Canada, Spain, Silverstone, Hungary and Italy this season.
In the USA last weekend he started on pole but started badly before finishing third ahead of Max Verstappen to close the gap at the top, only to be hit with a five-second penalty which saw him drop to fourth and Verstappen extend his lead at the top to 57 points.
Last year in Mexico, Norris started way back in 17th place but pushed to finish in fifth place, so this is a track he knows well and enjoys racing on. The car is still very quick clearly, and with a bit more consistency with his starts he is in a great position to win this race and really put the pressure on in the title race. At +275 there is good value in him to claim a win, but he'll need a much better qualifying session than in 2023.

Charles Leclerc - (+275)
Ferrari have had a very mixed season so far, but once again Leclerc is proving to be a top driver after claiming a dominant victory in the USA Grand Prix last week for his third of the season.
With Lewis Hamilton set to join as his teammate next season, the Monaco-native has been in decent form in recent races. He claimed the win in the Italian Grand Prix, which was his second win of the season after winning in his home country, and five of his last six races have seen him finish in the podium places.
Last year in Mexico Leclerc finished third after starting on pole, but this year his car is better and the field is far more competitive after Red Bull's recent struggles too. With a lot of the F1 world looking at Norris vs Verstappen, Leclerc and Ferrari are able to go about their business a bit more under the radar and they have proven they have the pace to compete.
He's never won in Mexico before, but he had never won in the United States before last week either. There's solid value in Ferrari going back to back.
Max Verstappen - (+275)
It's now nine races since Verstappen crossed the checkered flag first in his Red Bull car back in Spain, which is the longest run without a win the Dutch driver has had since back in the 2020 season.
Red Bull's season got derailed after they botched an upgrade where the car became more difficult to drive despite the wind tunnel telling them it would be faster, and it has allowed other teams into the title race for both the Drivers' and Constructors' championships.
Verstappen is the most successful driver in F1 Mexico Grand Prix history with five race wins, including each of the last three, and the car looked a lot better in the USA than it has done in recent months. The Dutchman is still coming to terms with the new upgrades implemented, but he did a great job for most of the race and ultimately secured a podium finish (even if it was controversial).
The track suits Verstappen and Red Bull down to the ground, and with extra time this should be the race where he finally gets back to winning ways. At +275, the value is excellent considering his recent form so take Max to cross the line first, and extend his lead at the top to all but seal a fourth consecutive world championship.
