Season so far
The Bruins started the season in a tremendous way with eight wins from their opening nine games, including wins in their first six games consecutively. That run was snapped when they fell to an overtime defeat to Anaheim Ducks, before bouncing back with wins over the Detroit Red Wings and then getting an overtime win over Florida Panthers themselves.
November was a less successful month as they went 7-4-2, which included overtime losses to Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning and super impressive wins over the New York Islanders (5-2), Buffalo Sabres (5-2) and Montreal (5-2) and San Jose Sharks (3-0).
But they fell to three defeats in a row also during that period against Detroit, New York Rangers and Colombus Blue Jackets.
December saw them earn a 7-3-3 record which included a run of five defeats from six games, with three coming via overtime and the only win in that run coming in a shootout. However in January they picked up form and went on a 9-2-3 run, which included a streak of seven wins in eight games. That included a stunning 9-4 win over Montreal and a 6-2 win over Philadelphia Flyers.
Boston come into this game in poor form though, having lost three of their four games in February thus far including a 3-0 loss to Washington Capitals and a shootout defeat to Tampa Bay in their last outing.
Seattle have had a poor season to date so far, and it started badly with four consecutive defeats against Vegas Golden Knights, Nashville Predators, St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalache. They finally claimed a win for the first time in a 7-4 victory over Carolina Hurricanes, however defeats to New York Rangers, Carolina and Florida saw them end the month with a record of 3-5-2.
November wasn't much better either as they picked up a 5-5-4 record for the month, with victories over Nashville, Colorado, New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks. But once again it was the defeats that made more of an impact as they suffered heavy losses to Calgary Flames, Colorado and Vancouver.
They they opened December with five consecutive defeats before a run of six wins in eight games against Florida, Chicago Blackhawks, Los Angeles, Anaheim, Calgary and Philadelphia saw them end 2023 in good form.
January was their best month of the season so far, continuing their great form with five wins in a row to start 2024 and extend their winning run to nine-in-a-row before Pittsburgh Penguins snapped that streak and sent them on a four-game losing run. They ended the month with a record of 7-5-1.
So far in February they are 1-2, but claimed a win over the New York Islanders last time out.
NHL Picks: Boston Bruins to win @ -130
The Boston Bruins have put together a sluggish week and are in a tough spot, but they should still comfortably claim victory over Seattle all things considered.
The Kraken aren’t lighting the world on fire themselves, and they’re just not consistent enough to really cause the Bruins a problem they can't handle, especially in the TD Garden. The Bruins are still dominant overall, and they’re 17-6-4 on their home ice.
You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has been making money backing the Kraken this season, and there’s little value in backing them on the road against one of the best teams in the league. The spread is set at -1.5 but with the form the way it is for Boston, it's safer to back them on the moneyline with this solid price.

NHL Picks: Back the Unders @ -115
There's a lot to like about the under in this contest, which is why it is as low as 5.5. With that said the price is good enough to bet and still get a decent return.
Both goaltenders have played well this season and are even more dialed in recently. Additionally both defenses prevent high-danger scoring chances at a high-clip.
Boston's offense can certainly put up points, but it has gone cold recently and they may be more content with just winning the game rather than winning in style. On the other hand, I would be shocked if Seattle got much going either against Swayman, so the under is the bet that makes the most sense.
