Could there be an Improbable victory in this year’s Breeders’ Cup Classic? Trainer Bob Baffert wouldn’t mind that one bit. Oddsmakers also believe it to be very much within the realm of probability.

Breeders' Cup Classic: The Favorites
This may be the most evenly-matched field in recently memory for the race and that’s only going to serve to offer stellar betting lines in the Breeders’ Cup Classic Vegas odds. There are several storylines that will play out in this race. The 2020 titles for Horse of the Year, Older Dirt Male and 3-Year-Old Male are all still very much up for grabs.
Interestingly, the Baffert trio of Improbable (post position 8), Authentic (PP#9) and Maximum Security (PP#10) all drew side by side. Belmont Stakes champion Tiz The Law wasn’t as fortunate. He’ll score from the inside post position No. 2, meaning early traffic could prove an issue for him.
Improbable was a beaten favorite in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes in 2019 but appears to have matured splendidly as a four-year-old. He’s tangled with and overcome much of this 10-horse field this year. Improbable has won three straight Grade 1 stakes races, getting the better of the likes of Maximum Security, By My Standards, Tom’s d’Etat and Higher Power in the process.
One week to go, Tiz The Law fans! #BC20

Tiz The Law’s handlers skipped the Preakness after losing to Authentic in the Kentucky Derby, aiming their sights on this race. The darling of the sport of kings earlier this year following his wins in the Belmont and Travers Stakes, Kentucky hasn’t proven to be Tiz The Law’s favorite place to race. Both of his career losses were suffered there, albeit at Churchill Downs.
Breeders' Cup Classic: Top Contenders
At the age of seven, Tom’s d’Etat is the figurative old warhorse but he can still show the kids how it’s done. Tom’s d’Etat got the better of Improbable earlier this season at Churchill Downs. Favored to win the Whitney, Tom’s d’Etat stumbled out of the gate and was a beaten third behind Improbable and By My Standards.

Completing the Kentucky Derby/Breeders’ Cup Classic double is rarely done. Authentic will try to achieve this rare feat but his loss to the filly Swiss Skydiver in the Preakness displayed that Authentic can beat beaten. Expect him to go to the front, but will Authentic show the class to hold off the field?
Breeders' Cup Classic: In With A Chance
Maximum Security’s six-race win streak came to a halt in his last start in the Awesome Again. He was a beaten second to stablemate Improbable. He’d not faced this level of competition during his winning run.
Improbable takes the Whitney and earns a spot in the starting for the Breeders Cup Classic. By My Standards 2nd, Tom's D'etat 3rd, and Code Of Honor 4th. 2-1-5-3 pic.twitter.com/4w0VR4BW9Y

By My Standards is an intriguing longshot in the Breeders’ Cup Classic odds. The 4-year-old is a different horse when Gabriel Saez is in the saddle. Saez was up for the horse’s last three victories.
Without Saez, By My Standards was second to Tom’s d’Etat (Stephen Foster) and Improbable (Whitney).
