Cleveland vs Atlanta: Cavaliers Host High Flying Hawks
Cavaliers are rolling after early season stumbles
Following a sluggish 5-7 start to their season, Cleveland is beginning to roll as they have won nine of their last eleven games. Pieced together during the off-season, LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love are starting to mesh as that terrific trio is averaging a combined 63.8 points per game. The Cavaliers (14-9) have won six straight home games and own a sparkling 12-3 record versus Eastern Conference foes. The Cavs crushed the Hawks 127-94 in their first meeting on November 15, 2014.
Hawks are one of the early season surprise squads in the East
After sneaking into the payoffs with a losing record (38-44) last season, plus a summer of ownership and front office racially charged turmoil, expectations were not very high in Atlanta coming into the 2014-15 NBA campaign. Though they still have their doubters, count us in that crowd, the Hawks (17-7) have won ten of their last eleven games. That said, Atlanta has feasted on the weaker teams in the league as they are 14-3 versus teams below .500 but just 3-4 against clubs with a winning record.
