Denver Broncos: Fortunate to be AFC West leaders
Following one of the worst coached games in NFL history, Denver escaped Kansas City with a 31-24 victory over the Chiefs during Thursday Night Football action in Week 2. With that win, plus a rather lackluster 19-13 victory over the Baltimore Ravens at home in Week 1, the Broncos have to be feeling fortunate that they are still undefeated. As mentioned previously, we aren’t ready to write of the career of QB Peyton Manning just yet but he has certainly lost some zip on his passes. Denver's defense, and in particular the Broncos top rated secondary, may be the star of this contest today.

After looking like world-beaters, when they were up 21-3 on the road in San Diego during NFL Week 1 action, not much has gone right since for Detroit. The Lions have been outscored 49-23 over their last six quarters and the results have been a 33-28 loss to the Chargers and a 26-16 mauling in Minnesota by Adrian Peterson and the Vikings last weekend. The tide turned on the Cats after Matthew Stafford was crushed by Chargers LB Mevin Ingram as the Lions pivot is now dealing with arm, wrist and chest injuries. There's not much behind Stafford and the Lions appear headed for another long season.
