EPL Week 16 Predictions

EPL Week 16 Predictions

Liverpool Favored in the Merseyside Derby

Fourth placed Liverpool invite their Merseyside rivals Everton to their Anfield home knowing that historically they should be finishing the 90m minutes with at least a share of the spoils. Liverpool are unbeaten in the previous 14 derbies with the Toffees in all competitions and it looks unlikely that record will be altered this week.

Liverpool seem to have hit form again and are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games and in nine games in all competitions. During those six league games, Liverpool have scored an impressive 19 goals and have conceded three times. This averages at almost four goals per game, making the -200 on there being over 2.5 goals look like printing money at Bovada.

Back to back league wins over West Ham United and Huddersfield Town have help lift Everton’s spirits yet it is difficult to see how they can get anything out of this fixture. Only two teams in the Premier League have conceded fewer goals than Everton and when you consider this porous defense will be coming up against one of the best attacking forces in the country, you can image Liverpool tearing them apart.

Bovada price Liverpool at -360 to win the game, which is not the best value out there. Instead, perhaps look at Liverpool starting with a -1.5 spread at -125. I also like the look of both teams to score and Liverpool to win at an enticing +175. Whatever you do, do not waste your bankroll on backing Everton to win all three points because even at +950 to win, I would not back them even with your money.

Liverpool & Both Teams To Score +175

Hammers Could Get Hammered by the Blues

West Ham United entertain their London rivals Chelsea this weekend knowing that even if they managed to some how secure a draw (+340 at Bovada) they could still end the day bottom of the Premier League if Swansea City beat struggling West Bromwich Albion.

The Hammers are second bottom in the league with a dreadful -19 goal difference thanks to only scoring 13 goals in 15 games and conceding a league-worst 32 goals. New manager David Moyes has only managed to grab one point from a possible 12 since taking charge at West Ham and his disastrous start looks set to continue this weekend when Chelsea come to town.

Chelsea may be some way off the pace of their title winning season last campaign and way way behind the pace of pace setters Manchester City, yet they have still won 10 of their previous 13 away league games and have taken maximum points in eight of their least 10 league games.

This makes the -220 Bovada is offering on a Chelsea win look a steal, as is the -130 on offer for Chelsea starting with a -1 spread. Eden Hazard is in the form of his life right now and is priced at +350 to score the first goal and +125 to score at any time; I would not deter anyone from placing either bet, particularly the latter. Chelsea should win this game at a canter and 2-0 at +650 looks like a fair price and one you should look at taking advantage of.

Eden Hazard To Score Anytime +125

Can the Red Half of Manchester Beat the Blue Half?

In addition to the Merseyside derby, Week 16 of the Premier League pits Manchester United at home to Manchester City in what should be a battle of wits between the two clubs’ managers.

United have won all 11 of their home games this season and have only allowed the opposition to score once in seven games. While it is true that United have not faced an attack with as much flair as City’s, manager Jose Mourinho is a master tactician when it comes to setting up his teams to frustrate the opposition.

City are looking for a record 14 consecutive league victories and being able to set that record against their Manchester rivals should spur them on if and when they find themselves out of the match for periods of it.

The blue half of Manchester is flying at the moment and have scored 46 goals in 15 games and only leaked 10 during that time. They go into this potential fire cracker of a fixture as +115 favorites, but I fancy United to spoil the party. Your best bet would be to take United to win with the draw no bet to fall back on. Bovada will give you +135 on this particular market.

Manchester United Draw no Bet +135
