Women's Australian Open 2024 favorites

Below you'll find a list of the favorites to win the Women's 2024 Australian Open tennis tournament.

Iga Swiatek - (+225)

The No. 1 ranked women’s tennis player in the world is seeking her first Australian Open title. For all the success that she has already accomplished in her career, Swiatek is still searching for a win in the Australian Open final having reached the semi-finals just once before.

Świątek won the 2023 French Open for her third title at Roland Garros to add to the 2022 U.S. Open she already has. The Polish star has proven that no one can touch her on clay, and now she's working to improve on the hard courts. In 2023 Swiatek was 41-8 in hard-court matches.

However, Swiatek is red-hot entering the Australian Open. She is coming off wins at the China Open and WTA Finals in Cancun to close out 2023. She beat U.S. Open winner Coco Gauff in straight sets twice, and Sabalenka, 6-3, 6-2.

Currently, Swiatek is in great form at the WTA United Cup and appears well-prepared for the challenge ahead in Melbourne. As the top seed she will expect to get deep into the tournament and at that point she'll expect to win it - as we expect her to also.

Aryna Sabalenka - (+670)

Last year, No. 5 seed Sabalenka defeated Elena Rybakina in three sets to win the 2023 Women’s Australian Open.

Following the win, Sabalenka had an up-and-down year. She showed glimpses of her quality but was unable to win any other major events, finishing the year with a record of 42-9 on a hard surface, and 56-14 overall.

Additionally, Sabalenka is off to a strong start this year, too. Without Swiatek at the 2024 Brisbane International, Sabalenka cruised to the final match versus Rybakina where she cruised to a straight sets victory.

Regardless, Sabalenka is familiar with winning at Melbourne Park. Look for Sabalenka to have plenty of confidence in her game at the 2024 Women’s Australian Open. There will be tougher competition than there was in Brisbane, but she's capable of going all the way and there is great value in backing her to do just that.

Elena Rybakina - (+940)

After Swiatek and Sabalenka, their closest challenger is expected to be World Number 4 Elena Rybakina. She will be looking to avenge her defeat in the final of the competition last season and go one better with victory in 2024.

Rybakina currently holds a career record of 289–132 (68.6%) and 5 WTA Tour titles. She has one Grand Slam to her name already in her career since turning pro back in 2016, when she won Wimbledon back in 2022 with a straight sets victory.

The 24-year-old is another part of the new tennis generation and will come into this event in flying form having already reached the final of the Brisbane Open before losing to Sabalenka in the final.

Her form might be coming to the boil at the right time, and at +940 there is sensational value in backing her for victory.

Coco Gauff - (+1075)

We think Coco Gauff will need to improve to win the Australian Open, but she’s a grand slam winner coming off a tournament victory and is always one of the most popular athletes among the crowd at these competitions.

The American doesn’t have much of a second serve or a forehand, but she’s able to construct points well and grind better than most. She's also resilient, excellent defensively and has fantastic match intelligence to boot.

She knuckled down and found reserves when beating Elina Svitolina in Auckland last week, and that should give the reigning U.S. Open champion confidence.

It won't be easy with so many top contenders and lots of flaws in her game, but if she can pick up momentum throughout the tournament with the fans behind her and with a few shocks elsewhere in the tournament she may well be picking up a second Grand Slam tournament championship by the end of her time Down Under.

With such huge odds for someone who has had success before at this level, there is fantastic value in backing her to be successful.
