The calendar just flipped to the new year and already we have an incredible Grand Slam tournament for tennis fans across the country to look forward to. In this case, we're of course talking about the Australian Open, with the best players on the planet hoping to go home with the silverware. Who will come out on top? With the tourney here, Jannik Sinner is the favorite to win the 2025 men's Australian Open.
It shouldn't be a surprise at all that Sinner is at the top of the list here, as he continues to look like arguably the best player on the planet. Sinner is no stranger to winning Grand Slam tournaments too, as he has already gotten that job done multiple times throughout his stellar career. There's plenty of pressure on him to deliver over the next week or so as well, especially with the doping case he's facing.
Australian Open odds | |||
---|---|---|---|
Sinner to win | +115 | +115 | +115 |
Alcaraz to win | +350 | +350 | +350 |
Zverev to win | +750 | +750 | +750 |
Djokavic to win | +850 | +850 | +850 |
"I was curious to see how it was. You never know what's happening," Sinner said after winning his first match of the tourney. "I was happy about the crowd. It was a very nice crowd. There were some for my opponent and some for me. It was a nice atmosphere. I was just looking forward to going on the court. This is what I practice for. I'm trying to compete in the best possible way."
According to the best online sports betting sites, Sinner holds +115 tennis betting odds to win the Australian Open. There are plenty of star playmakers right behind him in terms of odds too. With all of that said, though, we think Sinner will pull away. It will be interesting to see if that happens or not, but we're rocking with him as our pick in this case.

Carlos Alcaraz is ready to make a statement at the Australian Open
While there's a ton of attention on Sinner right now, and understandably so, don't forget that Carlos Alcaraz is ready to make a statement at the Australian Open. The Spanish sensation is also widely considered one of the best tennis stars on the planet and he also has had success in the past participating in Grand Slam tournaments.
From our chair, this could end up being a case where Sinner and Alcaraz end up meeting in the final. What makes this rivalry so great is that there's a tremendous amount of respect between the two stars. Should they end up meeting in the final, there would be a ton of grace showcased on both sides. However, both standouts will be ready to do whatever is needed to post a victory.
The Australian Open don’t own all of their broadcasting rights (fairly common), so they’re live-streaming a Wii Tennis-like version of the matches on YouTube - love this 😂

“There’s no secret. It’s hard work," Alcaraz said of his preparation for the 2025 Australian Open. "I try to be the best of me every day. Every day I wake up I try to be a better person and player. I’m gonna say this.”
Per the oddsmakers, Alcaraz holds +350 tennis betting odds to come away with a win. We're sticking with Sinner as our pick to win it all, but we also think that Alcaraz will go on a deep run and reach the final. Looking to get in on the betting action? Aryna Sabalenka is the favorite to win the women's Australian Open
Elsewhere, don't forget that Aryna Sabalenka is the favorite to win the women's Australian Open this year. Just like Sinner and Alcaraz, Sabalenka is widely considered one of the best players out there and she's ready to back up the hype surrounding her name over in Melbourne.
Whenever Sabalanka takes the court for a match, she's not only a threat to post a win, but also to do so in convincing fashion. That's exactly what fans are going to keep an eye on for with the Australian Open in full swing. Will she be the one to capture the glory?
There are plenty of other top talents ready to make a splash, including Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Naomi Osaka and many others. Only time will tell if someone is able to post an upset here, but we don't think that's going to happen. We're going with Sabalenka to be our pick to win it all. Look for Sabalenka and Swiatek to meet in the final, but Sabalenka being the one to be victorious in a tight battle.
