Favorites to win Silverstone F1 Grand Prix

Below you'll find a list of the favorites to win the Silverstone F1 Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen - Red Bull - (-319)

Without question Verstappen is the number-one driver in the world right now, and his seven wins from nine races this season prove it.

He has won the last five races in a row and he saw a run of 249 consecutive laps in pole position come to an end when Charles Leclerc overtook him around halfway through the race in Austria before Verstappen overtook him within two laps and cruised to victory.

This is quite easily the most routine championship victory that we have seen in a long time and this level of dominance is something we haven't seen in a long time.

He hasn't won at Silverstone since 2020, but it would be far more of a surprise if Verstappen didn't win the race this time around considering the form he's in and just how far ahead the Red Bull car is of everyone else. He's the obvious pick and the one we're going for too.

Sergio Perez - Red Bull - (+680)

As Red Bull continue to dominate on the circuit, that's the only reason why Perez is so high up on the list of favorites because his form recently has been shocking.

The Mexican driver won in Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan and has finished as runner-up in two more races but he has been struggling in qualifying in recent weeks, failing to get into Q3 in each of the last four races of the season.

But the car is so strong and fast that he is able to make up for those errors during the race and still score plenty of points. If Verstappen is struggling for whatever reason then Perez will get the nod to give it his all and push forward to claim a win.

There's plenty of value in backing the other Red Bull car to win if Verstappen doesn't for whatever reason, so Perez is a decent shout.

Lewis Hamilton - Mercedes - (+1125)

Unarguably one of the greatest drivers of all-time, the seven-time world champion is still trying to help Mercedes get back to their best after the first winless season of his career last year.

The fact Hamilton hasn't won a race since his last world title is startling, but the British driver returns to home soil this weekend as the most successful F1 driver in Silverstone history with eight previous wins (2008, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021).

So far this season he has managed three podiums, and Mercedes have pledged to have an upgraded car for this race but whether it's enough to get him that elusive win is unknown.

He'll have the home crowd advantage and they will no doubt push him on to perform well. The value is there for betting on him if you fancy an upset, but it's a long shot considering the strength of the grid around him.

Charles Leclerc - Ferrari - (+1425)

Many people considered the Monegasquen driver as the biggest threat for Verstappen's title at the start of the season, but he has been massively disappointing so far.

Leclerc has managed just two podium finishes so far this season with a host of errors and issues halting his progress, but he looked good in Austria last time out as he even managed to take the lead for a brief period.

Ferrari have got great pace but their strategies and silly errors have cost them on multiple occasions, which makes them winning at Silverstone this weekend even more unlikely than normal.

They're arguably the biggest threat to Red Bull when they get everything right, but the truth of the matter is that nobody knows which version of Ferrari will show up from race-to-race and that makes them impossible to back in the betting.

Leclerc has the ability and quality to get a good result in England, but the more likely outcome is that he disappoints once again and leaves everyone questioning why they expected so much from Ferrari to begin with.
