Minnesota Twins season so far
Minnesota have had a fantastic season with a complete record of 87-75 for the year, with just two months seeing them lose more games than they won.
They opened up the season in March/April with a 17-12 record, which ended with six wins from their final eight games after a run of six defeats in seven games right before that.
Twins then headed in May for their worst month of the season as they went 12-15, failing to win more than two games in a row at any point in the month and losing three in a row on three different occasions.
June was more of the same as they had another 12-15 run with a run of five defeats in a row early on before they started turning things around. July saw them go 13-11 for a more successful spell as they won nine out of 11, before ending the month with six consecutive defeats.
That was followed up in August by going 15-12 including six wins in their opening seven games of the month, before a poor spell of four losses in a row followed before alternating wins and losses for the most part. September and October saw them end the season going 18-10 and clinch the division with a win over the Los Angeles Angels.
They then opened their playoff campaign with a 2-0 series win over the Toronto Blue Jays, winning Game 1 3-1 before claiming a 2-0 win in Game 2. They then lost Game 1 of this series 4-6 in Houston, before bouncing back with a huge 6-2 win in Game 2
Houston Astros season so far
Houston had a spectacular season in 2023 as they achieved a regular season record of 90-72, with a winning record in all but two months of the campaign.
The season started slowly as the Astros lost four of their opening six games, but they claimed seven wins in their final ten games of the month to ensure they finished with a winning record for March and April. Those fixtures included three games against the Twins, which saw them go 1-2.
They followed that up by going 17-10 in May, with a fantastic run of 14 wins in 17 games in the middle of the month to help them recover from losing five of their first seven games. They ended the month with three more games against Minnesota, going 1-2 once again.
June saw them struggle with their form once again, going on a run of 11 defeats in 15 games in the middle of the month once again which included a run of five losses in a row at the end of the run. July opened with four wins in five games before a run of seven wins in 11 games after the All-Star game.
They then won six of their first eight games in August and ended the month with five straight wins, which ended a poor run of six defeats in eight games before that. Houston then had a losing run to end the season as they went 13-14 over September and October's regular season games, only clinching their playoff berth in the penultimate game before clinching the division in the final game with wins over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

MLB Picks: Twins to take the lead
The Twins have won 69, or 60.5%, of the 114 games they've played as favorites this season, and that is something that we are expecting to continue in this game and series.
Max Kepler has collected a hit in eight straight games. In his last 10 games, he is batting .371 with two doubles, two home runs, four walks, and six RBI. On top of that, Carlos Correa has a club-leading .230 batting average. Of all MLB batters, Correa is 112th in home runs and 109th in RBI. Correa heads into this game looking for his fifth game in a row with a hit. During his last five outings he is hitting .421 with three doubles, a walk and four RBI.
There is so much going in their favor, including home advantage for this clash that it's hard to see a way that the Astros claim a second win in the series in this game.
It's a great value bet for the home team to come out on top and take a big leap towards getting to the World Series.
