Minnesota vs Colorado: NHL Central Division Duel
Minnesota Wild: Aim for a third straight victory
Riding rock solid defense, Minnesota looks to win three in a row for the third time this season. The Wild earned a 2-1 win in Chicago on Tuesday and then blanked Toronto 1-0 on Thursday night. The two wins ended a rough stretch for Minnesota as they finished November on a 1-4-2 skid. Devan Dubnyk (13-7-2 GAA 2.36) recorded his fourth shutout of the season as he stopped all 28 shots the Maple Leafs fired at him. Minnesota trails St. Louis by four points in the Central Division and the Wild have two games in hand over the Blues. We like the Wild defense vs the Avalanche offense in this contest.
Colorado Avalanche: Rolling through an inconsistent season start
In the midst of a mediocre 11-14-1 season start, it’s difficult to get a handle on which Colorado team will show up from one night to the next. The Avalanche stalled heading out of the starting gate, they were 3-6-1 during October, but their play improved slightly in November as Colorado went 6-8-0 last month. Playing the final match of a four game road trip, that opened with a 5-3 loss to the NY Islanders, the Avalanche have tightened up defensively as they posted 2-1 victories over the Rangers and Devils. Semyon Varlamov (6-7-1 GAA 3.11) stopped 25 of 26 shots in the win over New York on Thursday.
NHL Parlay Prediction: Being as Toronto has just announced Garret Sparks is starting in goal for the Maple Leafs tonight, on the road against the St. Louis Blues, we’re not sure we are on the best game here. As such, we are going to place a 300 unit parlay wager tying together the Wild and Blues money line prices posted on the NHL betting board at the Sportsbook.ag wagering website.
