  • TJ Doheny - (+2100)

four-weight world champion and one of the best punchers in the sport of boxing and in history, Inoue holds a professional record of 27-0 with 24 knockouts and three decisions.

Inoue has already held world titles at light-flyweight, junior bantamweight, and bantamweight titles and successfully moved up to super-bantamweight in pursuit of history on the back of a five-fight knockout streak, ending the brilliant Stephen Fulton's undefeated run with a stunning knockout.

Most recently he unified the division for the first time ever with a tenth-round knockout win over Marlon Tapales at the back end of 2023, before stopping Luis Nery in the sixth-round of their fight back in May.

Jason Moloney, Michael Dasmarinas, Aran Dipaen, Nonito Donaire, and Paul Butler all have stepped into the ring with Inoue since 2020 and failed to go the distance prior to that.

If you want to bet on "The Monster" to maintain his undefeated record once this fight is over, you can get a best price of -15000 meaning you must bet $15000 to see a return of $100.

Standing across the ring from him will be former IBF super bantamweight world champion Doheny, who holds a professional record of 26-4 including 20 knockouts. After starting his career by going 19-0, the Irishman won the belt in a fantastic fight against Japan's Ryosuke Iwasa, before defending the title against Ryohei Takahashi with an 11th round knockout.

However he then lost the belt to Daniel Roman and went on to lose three of his next five fights, sending his career into a bit of a spiral. But since June 2023 Doheny has claimed three knockout wins in a row, defeating Kazuki Nakajima, Japhetlee Llamido and Bryl Bayogos all within four rounds to set up this fight with the king of the division.

If you want to bet on a new champion and a major upset, you can get a best price of +2100 for Doheny to win, meaning you would earn $2100 profit from a $100 bet.

Naoya Inoue vs TJ Doheny preview

There may be nobody in the world capable of beating Inoue at 122-pounds, but if there is someone it most certainly won't be Doheny.

Even though he should be at a stage in his career where something should be slowing down or encountering increased resistance in a fourth weight class, the Japanese product is simply unopposed. He shook off being dropped for the first time in his career against Nery by smashing through him in the first half of the fight, proving it was a blip rather than anything to be worried about.

It's hard to say Doheny has earned this fight either. While he has won three in a row, he lost four of his previous six before that and is getting the opportunity to fight for the belts simply because there is nobody else for Inoue to beat up.

At age 37, Doheny is more hittable than ever, and he is also particularly vulnerable to a left hook to the body, which happens to be one of Inoue's signature punches. While he shows a lot of heart in those moments, his lack of evasive movement and defense will provide Inoue with huge opportunities to have a quick night at the office because Doheny will trade with him.

Boxing picks: Inoue gets the knockout

We have previously seen "The Monster" take his time to win fights in a certain way and put a show on for the crowd, but we've also seen him just tear through people to assert dominance. This fight feels like a huge opportunity for the latter to happen again.

Inoue is far too strong, quick and powerful for Doheny to deal with and all of the Japanese star's biggest strengths lean into his opponents' weaknesses. This is very unlikely to go on for a long time.

With absolutely no value in backing the moneyline, you can find great prices with the rounds and finish market. Backing Inoue to win via knockout in the first half of the fight almost feels like printing money at -190.
