Nets analysis

Team record - 38-34

The Nets are coming into this game with a solid record on the road for the season at 22-15 and will be confident of a big result here.

They've won six of their last seven games and are coming into this one on a two-game winning streak. Their last loss came against the Dallas Mavericks while their six wins in that span came against the Charlotte Hornets, Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Portland Trail Blazers, and the Utah Jazz most recently.

In that game, it was Kevin Durant, who else, led the team in points by scoring 37 while Bruce Brown Jr was next behind him with a big 22 points. Durant also got eight assists in the game to lead the team on that side too, while also leading the team for rebounds with nine.

The Nets were 54.2% from the field, 36.7% from three-point range, and 86.7% from the free-throw line with their shots in that game to show they're getting back to their best after a rocky mid-season.

Their offense is averaging 112.1 points per game and their defense is averaging keeping their opponents to an average of 111.8 points per game.

Grizzlies analysis

Team record - 49-23

The Grizzlies come into this game with a very strong 24-10 home record this season and will look to extend that in this game.

Memphis have won five of their last six games and are coming off this game after getting back on the winning trail in their last game. They suffered defeat to the Atlanta Hawks, but have racked up wins against the New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers, and the Houston Rockets most recently.

During that win over the Rockets, it was Desmond Bane that led the team in points with 24, while Dillon Brooks was next on the team with 20. Tyus Jones and Bane both had a team-high of seven assists each in that game and Steven Adams racked up nine rebounds to lead the team.

It was a solid shooting performance too, going 47.9% from the field, 47.1% from the three-point boundary, and 82.4% from the free-throw line with their shooting.

Their average points scored per game this season stands at 114.7 so far, while their defense is only allowing an average of 109.3 points per game.

Nets vs Grizzlies Prediction

The absence of all-star and key man Ja Morant is a huge blow for the Grizzlies in this game and I believe it could be the difference between a win and a loss for the home side.

Since they're playing on the road, Irving will be available to come back into the starting five and his recent form has been amazing after recently setting a franchise record for points in a single game.

Morant has a knee injury and is listed as questionable, so he could play, but if he does he won't be 100 percent fit and raring to go and to go up against the duo of Irving and Durant you have to be at your best.

The Grizzlies' recent record is good but slightly padded, considering they've played some of the weakest sides in the league during their run and the majority of their wins have come against the bottom five teams in the West.

The Grizzlies are likely to struggle to really get going in this one and the Nets are on a great run and finally look to be hitting their early-season rhythm again.

Durant is out of the MVP race because of the rocky patch in mid-season but he still has a huge chance to take this side to the playoffs rather than the play-ins and once there, it'll be difficult for anyone to beat them over a seven-game series. Back the Nets to claim a huge win on the road!
