Kansas Jayhawks season so far
It's been a pretty good season for the Jayhawks so far, with a regular season record of 18-5 heading into this game.
The campaign started with a six-game winning streak, including beating the Duke Blue Devils in the Champions Classic in game week 3 with a 69-64 scoreline.
Their first defeat came in the Battle 4 Atlantis championship game against Tennessee Volunteers via a 50-64 score.
After that game the team went on an incredible ten-game winning streak, which saw them beat Seton Hall in the Big East-Big 12 battle, as well as Missouri in the Border War, where they scored a season high 95 points in the game.
Jalen Wilson continued to shine with several top scorer performances, but in recent times their form has dropped off a cliff. Kansas were beaten in overtime by Kansas State to end that streak, then got dominated by TCU in the following game before another third consecutive loss to Baylor.
They've since bounced back with victories over Kentucky and Kansas State, before their most recent defeat to Iowa State over the weekend in a 68-53 drubbing. They're currently 6-4 against other members of the Big 12 this season.
Texas Longhorns season so far
The Longhorns have had a fantastic season themselves, with the best record among the Big 12 against other members of the group.
The season started with a six-game winning streak, which included a 93-74 win over Gonzaga and a dominant performance against Creighton in the Big East-Big 12 Battle. Their first defeat however came in the Jimmy V Classic, where they were beaten 85-78 in overtime by Illinois.
That was followed by another six-game winning run, before a stunning defeat to Kansas State. They scored a season-high 103 points in that game, but allowed 116 and suffered a loss anyway.
Since then they've won seven of their last nine games, with defeats to Kansas State, Iowa State and Tennessee. Their victories came against Oklahoma State (x2), TCU, Texas Tech, West Virginia and Kansas State over the weekend in a 69-66 comeback win.
NCAAB Picks: Back the overs
Kansas are having a tough time at the moment, having gone 2-3 in their last five games recently and also going 2-3 against the spread when it comes to the betting.
In their road games recently the Jayhawks are 4-5 against the spread too, showing that they don't travel too well. For them, it's a great relief that this game is at their home arena.
When it comes to scoring points they do it well. The Over has landed in three of their last five games, while it has also landed in seven of their last 13 games at home.
Alternatively Texas are flying right now, coming into this game with a 4-1 record in their last five and with an excellent record against their fellow Big 12 sides.
On the road they've not been as strong, going 2-3 against the spread in their last five games. But points scoring is certainly their thing, with the over landing in three of their last five games and nine of their last 14 on the road.
Texas are the favorites for the game and rightly so considering recent form and their record this season against the other top sides, and the stats suggest that the over should land too

NCAAB Picks: Back the Longhorns
It's never easy to go on the road against a team from the Big 12 and come out victorious, but Texas have certainly got it in the locker for this game.
Over the last ten games, Kansas have scored on average 72 points per game, and their games that have averaged 145 points total in that same period but Texas' numbers are far better.
The Longhorns have won the first half in four of their last five games, are averaging 75 points scored per game over the last ten games and their games are averaging 149 points scored combined in that same period.
The form is in their favor, their big 12 game record is in their favor, and the averages are in their favor too.
Against each other it's Kansas who have the edge over their last ten meetings, with an average of 73 points scored compared to Texas' 68, but Texas are the stronger team right now and should be able to get it done in a relatively tight contest.
