NCAAF 2015 Playoffs: Rose Bowl And Sugar Bowl Predictions
Ducks vs Seminoles: Heisman Trophy Winners Clash
For the third time in NCAAF playoff history, a pair of Heisman Trophy winning quarterbacks will face each other when Florida State QB Jameis Winston and Oregon QB Marcus Mariota meet in the 101st Rose Bowl at 5:00 PM ET on January 1, 2015, in Pasadena, California. The Seminoles look to take the second last step towards defending their 2014 NCAAF Championship while the Ducks are aiming to play in the title game for the second time in school history. FSU is riding a 29-game winning streak, and bring a ton of experience into this contest, while Oregon is 59-7 dating back to the 2010 season - the last time they played for the National Championship. The defending Champs are big underdogs here.
Alabama vs Ohio State: Crimson Tide look to roll over the Buckeyes
Aiming to earn their fourth NCAAF title game appearance in six years, Alabama faces Ohio State in the 81st Sugar Bowl at 8:30 PM ET at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, LA. The Crimson Tide are riding an eight-game winning streak including a 42-13 blowout win over Missouri in the 2014 SEC title game. After a shocking 35-21 loss to Virginia Tech in Week 2, the Buckeyes reeled off eleven straight wins and claimed the Big Ten Championship with a 59-0 whipping of Wisconsin. College coaching giants square off here as Nick Saban and Urban Meyer renew the rivalry they shared when Meyer was leading the Florida Gators in the SEC - Saban owns a 2-1 lead in the previous meetings.
Rose Bowl & Sugar Bowl Predictions: We can't ask for much more from the inaugural NCAA Football Playoff series as the story lines run deep in both of these contests. While it wasn't easy to pick the winners here, when all was said and done, we decided that experience will rule on New Year's Day. Give us Florida State with the points for 200 units in the Rose Bowl and we'll lay the line to back Alabama with 200 units in the Sugar Bowl. We will also tie the Seminoles (ATS) to the Crimson Tide (ML) with 100 units on a two-team parlay using the betting odds posted at the TopBet sportsbook.
