New York Mets vs Miami Marlins MLB Game Day Prediction
New York Mets: Rolling towards the playoffs
Firing on all cylinders, New York is cruising into the MLB playoffs for the first time since 2006. The Mets are on a tremendous roll as they on an 18-5 recent run and they now own a gapping 9.5 game lead over the Washington Nationals in the NL East Division. During the hot streak, New York has won eight straight games including their 4-3 win in the series opener last night. Playing much better offensively lately - the Mets have outscored their opponents by a 53-32 margin over their last eight games
Miami Marlins: Still battling hard despite being postseason eliminated
Doomed from basically the start of the year, after they posted a 20-13 record over the first two months of the season, Miami has had another MLB campaign to forget. The Marlins have a 61-83 record and are guaranteed a sixth straight losing season. That said, the Fish have been battling recently as they are 8-4 during September. That stretch includes a pair of home wins over the Mets two weekends ago. Miami’s winning run is deceptive as they have scored just 20 runs during their last nine games.
New York vs Miami MLB Prediction: We get one of our favorite hurlers on the hill in this contest as RHP Jacob deGrom (13-7 ERA 2.40) faces RHP Tom Koehler (9-13 ERA 3/99) in the rumble on the rubber here. Though not quite as dominant as he was early in the season, deGrom has allowed just 18 earned runs (seven in one game) over his last eight starts. Koehler has yielded 34 earned runs over his last nine outings including eight in his last two starts vs the Mets. Koehler’s ERA on the road is 4.92 compared to his 2.97 ERA at home. Meanwhile, deGrom shines at home with a 1.57 ERA over his 3.20 ERA on the road. We are backing the Mets with a 1000 unit wager on the money lines prices posted on the Sportsbook.ag MLB betting board.
