The best bets from the final week of regular-season play in the NFL, with point spreads offered courtesy of Bovada.lv:

Green Bay Packers (-3.5) at Detroit Lions (+3.5)

The Lions opened the season 1-3 and looked to be dead in the water. Then they went 8-1 in their next nine with gunslinger quarterback Matt Stafford leading the way and it looked as if the NFC North was theirs for the taking. Now, they've lost two in a row and will cough up the division title with a third straight loss to the 9-6 Packers on Sunday. When they take the field Sunday night both teams will also know whether Washington beat the Giants, which would mean the loser of this game would be eliminated from the playoffs. 

Detroit (8-7) holds a slight edge over Green Bay (7-7-1) in against the spread wagering and the Lions are 6-0 straight up and 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games. Green Bay has won 18 of 22 straight up from the Lions and Detroit has won just once all season at Ford Field by a margin larger than three points. The Cowboys carved up Detroit for 42 points last week and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has passed for 1,367 yards, 11 touchdowns and no interceptions over his last five games.

Pick: The Packers (-3.5)

New York Giants (+8) at Washington Redskins (-8)

No matter what happens in this game, the Giants will enter the playoffs as the No. 5 seed in the NFC playoffs but if the Redskins win, they clinch the No. 6 seed and ensure the loser of the Lions-Packers game is done for the season. The only scenario that could keep Washington out of the postseason with a win here would be if Green Bay and Detroit were to play a tie game.

The Giants are a dismal 1-9 straight up in their last 10 games on the road against teams with winning records. The Redskins are 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 games. 

Pick: The Redskins (-8)

New Orleans Saints (+7) at Atlanta Falcons (-7)

At any time, a matchup of Falcons QB Matt Ryan against Drew Brees, his New Orleans counterpart, would make for an explosively entertaining afternoon of football but for the Falcons, a win in this game would clinch a first-round playoff bye.

The Saints are 9-1-1 against the spread in their last 11 games as an underdog. They are also 7-2-1 in their last 10 ATS against NFC South competition. New Orleans is also 7-3 straight up in its last 10 at Atlanta.

Pick: The Saints (+7)

New England Patriots (-10) at Miami Dolphins (+10)

If the Dolphins win and Kansas City loses to San Diego, then Miami would clinch the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoffs. On the other hand, if the Patriots win, they clinch the AFC's top seed and home-field advantage all the way along the journey to the Super Bowl.

You could bill this one as the hottest team in the NFL versus the best team in the NFL. The Dolphins are 8-1-1 against the spread in their last 10 games and have won five in a row at home. The Patriots, though, are an NFL-best 12-3 ATS. The Patriots are also 10-3 straight up in their last 13 against Miami and New England quarterback Tom Brady has thrown 15 touchdowns and zero interceptions on the road this season.
