NFL Week 7 Predictions
Even though Week 6 won't carry over to week 7 and there are new profits to be made...
Here's a quick glance at the week that was: Chicago and LA both won outright as dogs and, the New York/Dever game was under like thunder. The Giants actually won that one as 11.5-point dogs - a game where I had a sneaky feeling they were being totally disrespected.
NFL Week 6 Predictions | Results |
Chicago+7 @ Baltimore | Winner |
Los Angeles +2.5 @ Jacksonville | Winner |
Los Angeles/Jackson UNDER 42.5 | Loser |
New York Giants/Denver UNDER 39.5 | Winner |
Like I said, last week is over. Time to focus on what's in front of us.
Kansas City (-3) @ Oakland (+3) O/U: 46.5
KC (5-1) suffered its first loss Sunday and now must recover quickly to face Oakland (2-4) on the road in a Thursday night showdown. The Raiders have lost four straight and are in desperate need of a win. This game has a bad feel for the Chiefs, but at the end of the day the outcome feels like a coin flip. Both offensive lines are banged up heading into this one and a short week of preparation usually favors defenses. All signs point to a hard-fought, nip and tuck affair where points could be scarce so 46.5 seems like an ambitious total.

How did Denver manage to lose to the hapless New York Giants last week? Really, how? This Broncos team suddenly has all kinds of issues and question marks surrounding its prospects this season. I expect them to play more inspired football this week, but they'll need more than inspiration. Meanwhile, the Chargers (2-4) are riding high after beating Oakland with a late field goal last week for its second win in a row. The Chargers have been in every game this year and will make it three straight at home against a Denver team trying to find itself.

So let's get right down to it. Neither of these teams are impressive offensively and this game will be one where field position takes on added significance. If the Bengals can slow Le'Veon Bell (134 carries for 550 yards this year), they can put themselves in a position to spring the upset.
With Big Ben openly questioning his own declining skill set, I just can't endorse the Steelers or their offense here. Even though I'm leaning towards taking the Bengals with the points, I like another low-scoring under here.
