It has all come down to this. Last week, the national semifinals for the College Football Playoff arrived and there were two incredible games on display for everyone to enjoy. First, Notre Dame took down Penn State in a thriller, and then Ohio State did the same against Texas. Who will capture the glory? As things stand, Ohio State is a strong favorite over Notre Dame in the 2025 CFP title game.
Who will end up coming out on top? These two teams match up pretty evenly, as they have strong offenses but also plenty of great playmakers on defense too. It has been a magical ride for both Marcus Freeman and Ryan Day, who will have their stars fired up to try and win the National Championship. This has the makings to be an unreal showdown.

The under should hit between Ohio State and Notre Dame in the title game
In terms of total points for this one, we think the under should hit between Ohio State and Notre Dame in the title game. On offense, Riley Leonard and Will Howard have looked tremendous with the ball in their hands. What Howard was able to get done against both Tennessee and Oregon is still being talked about, while Leonard has also impressed.
However, we've got to bring up the play of both defenses in the semifinals. Ohio State's defense was on fire, with pass-rusher Jack Sawyer stealing the show in the fourth quarter. His scoop and score on Texas' Quinn Ewers to seal the win will go down as one of the most historic plays in Ohio State history. He's going to be ready to make a splash in the title game too.

Look for Notre Dame to cover the spread against Ohio State
We think this game is going to be close, so look for Notre Dame to cover the spread against Ohio State. With the spread being set at 8.5 points, we believe that the Irish will use this as motivation. Freeman, who is receiving NFL head coaching experience, is going to change up his game plan to make sure his team is ready.
On top of that, keep in mind that Texas had Ohio State on the ropes in the Cotton Bowl. Had it not been for Sawyer's unreal play on 4th down, perhaps Texas might have tied things up on that possession. Texas indeed was only a few plays away from pulling off the upset.
We're standing firm in our pick that Ohio State is going to end up winning it all, but we think the final score will be 24-20 - so, a four-point win for the Buckeyes.
