Over the years the mile has produced more back-to-back winners than any other Breeders' Cup race, but for 2018 the defending champ won't be running and the field is wide open.

The last time the Dodgers and Red Sox clashed in the World Series, Babe Ruth was a pitcher for Boston who led the American League with a 1.75 ERA and the Dodgers were the Brooklyn Robins. That was in 1916 and this matchup has already etched itself in the Fall Classic history books as the longest gap between World Series meetings. Boston won the previous set with the Dodgers in five games.
