Saturday 23 June - 06:17 EDT
The Three Lions looked impressive in the early stages of their 2-1 victory over Tunisia and could easily have been three or four goals to the good by half time. England faltered somewhat in the second half, mostly because Tunisia were happy to put 10 players behind the ball and defend deep.

Germany know realistically they have to defeat Sweden. A draw would leave them able to secure a maximum of four points and it would leave their fate out of their own hands as Mexico take on Sweden in the final group games. A defeat at the hands of Sweden would essentially end the reigning champions’ title defense.
Friday 22 June - 14:39 EDT
Korea Republic looked in a sorry state in their game against Sweden, a match during which they failed to register a single shot on target. The Koreans were out-played, out-muscled and out-classed and it is extremely difficult to see how they will cope with the pacey attack of the Mexicans.
Friday 22 June - 14:28 EDT
Belgium are simply far too good for Tunisia. If Tunisia take the game to Belgium they will leave themselves open in defense and the Belgians will hit them on the break. If, like against England, Tunisia sit back and defend, Belgium will eventually grind them down and put the ball in the Tunisian goal.
Friday 22 June - 05:35 EDT
The Serbians are the better placed of the two team here thanks to winning their opening game. A point would put them on four points with only a game against Brazil to come. It is highly unlikely that Costa Rica will beat Brazil so four points could be enough to progress from the group.
Thursday 21 June - 08:24 EDT
Nigeria know that they have to claim all three points if they are to have a realistic chance of reaching the knockout stages. A draw against Iceland would mean they could secure four points at the most and their fate would be out of their own hands going into the final game. Defeat to Iceland would almost certainly result in Nigeria heading back to Africa regardless of the result against Argentina in their final game.
Thursday 21 June - 06:51 EDT
Brazil were wasteful in front of goals in their 1-1 draw with Switzerland and looked frustrated by a team that was prepared to put 10 men behind the ball in an attempt to thwart them. Expect a much different Brazil side to turn up for the Costa Rica game, one that is likely to blow their South American opponents away.
Thursday 21 June - 06:45 EDT
Argentina need to perform much better than they did against Iceland otherwise they run the risk of being eliminated at the Group Stage for the first time since 2002. The South Americans failed to create enough clear cut chances in their opening game as they struggled to break down a stoic Iceland defence.
Thursday 21 June - 05:38 EDT
The French know that securing all three points will guarantee them a place in the Round of 16, but Didier Deschamps’ men will need to perform better than they did against Australia if they are to go on and lift the winner’s trophy.
