EPL Top Scorers Odds Week 16
The 2017-18 Premier League Golden Boot race is currently headed by Liverpool’s lightning fast Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah. Salah is in the form of his life right now and has score 12 goals and made three assists.
Everything about his attacking prowess is impressive. Salah averages 94 minutes per goals and has seen 31 of his 45 shots need saving; that’s an impressive 69 percent of his shots being on target.
As he is in such great form, Bovada have priced him at +500 to finish the season and the competition’s top scorer. Salah has a perfect opportunity to extend his lead at the top of the goal scoring charts this week because his Liverpool team host Everton.
The Toffees have conceded 16 goals from seven away games this season and although they are now under the guidance of Sam Allardyce, a defensive expert, early season form suggests Everton could be in for a torrid time at Anfield and Salah could get on the scoresheet once again.
Salah is +300 to score first in the game against Everton and -135 to put the ball in the back of the Everton net before the referee blows the full time whistle.
Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) - 10 Goals +225Second in the current goal scoring charts is Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane. The England striker is on 10 goals and one assist and is averaging 122 minutes per goal. Kane is still Bovada’s favorite to win the Golden Boot with odds of +225 mostly because the talismanic forward has an almost unnatural ability to find the back of the net.
Sixth place Tottenham invite Stoke City to their temporary Wembley home this weekend. Stoke’s usually solid defence has leaked 30 goals from 15 games this term, 15 at home and 15 away. Kane bagged himself a hat trick the last time these two sides met, a game that ended 4-0 in Spurs’ favour; Kane has six goals in his last three games against the Potters.
A decent looking bet with Bovada is Kane to score and Tottenham to win 3-0 at +1000, which is the same price for a Spurs 2-0 win.
Sergio Agüero (Manchester City) - 9 Goals +500Three players are tied for third place at the moment. Alvaro Morata of Chelsea and Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero each have nine goals to their name.
Aguero is priced at +500 to be the top scorer come the end of the season, Morata weighs in at +650 and Sterling is way down the pecking order at +3300.
I wouldn’t be betting on either Aguero or Sterling to get on the score sheet this weekend because their Man City team travels to Manchester United’s Old Trafford for the Manchester Derby. United has only conceded once at home this season in the league and manager Jose Mourinho is likely to employ a defensive strategy to try and counteract City’s attacking prowess.
For those of you who are interested in these two players’ odds, Aguero is +400 to score first and +120 to score in 90 minutes, while Sterling is +700 to open the scoring and +225 to score at any time. As for Morata, he could be the much safer bet because his Chelsea team travels to struggling West Ham United. The Hammers have the worst defence in the league having conceded 32 goals in 15 games and they have shown little improvement since the arrival of David Moyes as the new manager.
Morata looks value at +300 to score first and -110 to breach the West Ham defense before the curtain comes down on proceedings.
