Super Bowl XLIX: Bovada NFL Futures Betting Prices
When it comes to the National Football League, there's no better time to bet on the future than the present. Today we preview the futures prices for Super Bowl XLIX posted on the sportsbook betting board at Bovada. The usual suspects are top chalk to contend for the Vince Lombardi Trophy when the AFC battles the NFC on February 1, 2015, at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ.
Broncos & Patriots: Top two Super Bowl XLIX chalk
Bovada bookmakers have made Peyton Manning and Denver as top chalk to claim Super Bowl XLIX with a +650 ML price. Tom Brady and New England are a close second with +700 odds and it's hard to argue that Denver and New England won't be in the AFC hunt come February. The Mile High Crew bulked up on defense as they added DE DeMarcus Ware, CB Aqib Talib and S ?T.J. Ward to the mix. The Patriots countered the loss of Talib with the addition of cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner - who should be playing with a chip on his shoulder. Denver gets a slight edge here.
Seahawks & 49ers: Tied as third favorites at the Bovada sportsbook
Currently posted with a +750 money line price on the Bovada sportsbook betting board, Seattle and San Francisco are tied as third favorites playing out of the NFC. Seattle is attempting to capture back-to-back Super Bowl titles and that's a tall order as no team has turned the double since New England took out the somewhat suspect Carolina and Philadelphia squads back in the 2004 and 2005.
Their chances are further complicated by the fact that Seattle has lost some key cogs with the retirement of WR Sidney Rice plus free agency losses that included WR Golden Tate (Lions) and CB Brandon Browner (Patriots). Add in the fact that they play in the ultra-tough NFC West and we would tread lightly on the Seahawks repeating. Though we aren't totally sold on the ever increasingly dysfunction SF First Family by the Bay, the 49ers will be in the race to claim the NFC Championship.
Super Bowl XLIX Prediction: Back the Broncos (300 units) and Patriots (200 units) at Bovada.
