Paris St. Germain (+230) vs. Barcelona (+115) 2.45pm ET
One of the games of the round is undoubtedly at the Parc des Princes. Paris St. Germain have steadily been growing in reputation in the Champions League each of the past four or five seasons, but remain embattled in a fierce domestic fight for the title having lost the magic that Zlatan Ibrahimovic provided. Can they possibly provide a shock by beating the mighty Barcelona?
This could be the kind of game we're in for:
Barcelona are not exactly flying along in La Liga, and are distinct second-favorites behind hated rivals Real Madrid to win the title this year. They are under immense pressure to capitalize on the Champions League and should be too strong for their hosts. Messi and Suarez could both score and it's +400 on Bovada to do so, but I prefer Barcelona to win in a game where both teams score. That's + 275.
Across the tie overall, Barcelona are massive favorites to progress at -400, and PSG won't have many takers at +275 to make it past the Spanish giants over three hours of soccer. Who would present value at those odds in all honesty? Avoid the market in general and seek out single special bets such as the ones suggested.
Benfica (+210) vs. Borussia Dortmund (+130) 2.45pm ET
One of the best bets of the week's Champions League fixtures is the +130 on offer on the European markets for Benfica to be winning at either half-time or full-time in this Round of Last 16 game.
The odds of +250 for Benfica to progress are too large as well, with Dortmund languishing in the Bundesliga and overrated at -350 to make the quarter-finals. If you're backing the Portuguese, make sure that you do before this first leg kicks off.
Wednesday 15th February
Bayern Munich (-200) vs. Arsenal (+500) 2.45pm ET
These two have history. Just a few years ago, Arsenal went out to the Germans after a first leg capitulation saw the almost out before the second leg began. They triumphed 2-0 in the Allianz Arena, however, and Munich were lucky to progress.
Alexis Sanchez is on fire and, if Arsenal manage to score, will rely on his goal-scoring nous.
He's an amazing +1100 to score two goals at Allianz, which is a great outside bet. Mind you, it is a long shot as Munich are extremely sound defensively at home. Having said that, Bayern's center back partnership are slow and susceptible. Munich are -250 to reach the quarter-finals, with the Gunners pegged as +140 underdogs.
Real Madrid (-185) vs. Napoli (+450)
While Napoli could have been a definite threat with Manolo Gabbiadini in their side, especially at home where they create a lot of chances, they cashed in on him in January by selling him to Southampton for approximately $18 million.
Madrid should win both legs, and are worth backing at +140 with a goal handicap on Wednesday. They are -300 to progress with Napoli pegged as long outsiders at +225.
