Odds to win UFC 228 title fight
'Biggest fight' of champ's career
Woodley, who is 36 years old and from Missouri, has a 18-3-1 career record. He is 5-0-1 in his last six fights. Till, who is 25 years old and from England, is 17-0-1 is his career with 10 of his victories by TKO. Oddsmakers from TopBet have given a slight edge to the champ. Woodley sits at -120, while Till is pegged at -110.
“This is my super fight. This is the biggest fight of my career,” Woodley told ESPN recently.
“I’m in great shape. I’ve had a great training camp. I feel like all the pieces to the pie, that we’ve addressed those issues that we’ve seen in film and that’s my goal.”
Till is a massive fighter competing at welterweight and he will have a ton of size on the champion once they step into the Octagon. The British slugger is six feet tall and his 74-inch reach will be a serious factor for Woodley.
Some of Till biggest assets are: accurate left hand, works well into the body, strong inside a clinch and he shows good positional awareness.
But the champ hasn’t tasted defeat in four years and he also has the explosive power to end this fight in one punch. Woodley is three inches shorter than Till and has the same reach.
Some of the champ’s greatest assets are: devastating right hand, closes distance well, heavy leg kicks and explosive power-double takedown.
The Chosen One has five career submissions but they all came in his first five fights. Since then, he has chosen the knockout route to finish off his opponents, earning six TKOs in his next 13 fights.
This is the test of the Gorilla’s career, but he has looked like the real deal ever since arriving on the UFC stage. This is a close match to call. You can make a case for either fighter.
Prediction — Till (-110) Woodley has been out of action for more than 12 months after shoulder surgery for a torn labrum. If there are any lasting effects from his injury, Till will take full advantage of his opponent. The rising star has been saying all along that he is the best. No excuses now, just prove it.
