UFC Betting: UFC 192- Cormier Vs. Gustafsson

UFC Betting: UFC 192- Cormier Vs. Gustafsson

Main Event: Alexander Gustafsson vs. Daniel Cormier

Odds: Gustafsson +250, Cormier -325

At first glance, Gustafsson’s height and reach would make it seem as though he would be the favourite, but judging from the odds that is definitely not the case. Daniel Cormier strong statue and ability to shoot the legs helps him turn Gustafsson’s height advantage into a disadvantage. Cormier will need to bring the match to the ground and control Gustafsson, who is a better striker than Cormier and wins the majority of his matches through KO & TKO. Cormier is up for the challenge and is likely to retain the light heavyweight championship.

Pick: Cormier

Rashad Evans vs. Ryan Bader

Odds: Evans -165, Bader +135

What a better way to lead up to the light heavyweight title fight than with a match featuring two more top 5 light heavyweight fighters. Rashad Evans is trying to become only the second light heavyweight to win the title twice in his career. This match against Ryan Bader will likely be a key factor in determining who will get the next title fight. Both fighters have had lengthy and successful MMA careers with neither fighter really has a large advantage in any key fighting statistics. Even though Evans is favoured, he has not fought in the octagon for two years. Over the same span Bader has won four consecutive matches and made a big splash in the light heavyweight world. From a recency perceptive, Bader is a good underdog pick – even if he barely is an underdog.

Pick: Bader

John Hendricks vs. Tyron Woodley

Odds: Hendricks -300, Woodley +230

Another match on this weekend’s card with some serious implications on future title fights, the first and third ranked welterweights square up in the octagon on the lead up fight to the main event. Johnny Hendricks is the topped ranked contender and former champion will need a strong performance against Tyron Woodley to get another shot at the title against the man – Robbie Lawler – who beat him. Hendricks is the number one contender for a reason and even though Woodley is a highly touted competitor, it does not seem like an upsetting in the making this Saturday night.

Pick: Hendricks
