UFC Fight Night 84: Silva Vs. Bisping

UFC Fight Night 84: Silva Vs. Bisping

Main Event: Anderson Silva vs. Michael Bisping

Odds: Silva -305, Bisping +235

Anderson Silva returns to the ring on Saturday after serving a yearlong suspension for use of a banned substance.  Silva will certainly have some rust to shake off, having just one fight since December 2013 – due to his suspension and a fractured leg the previous year. Bisping used to be a top middleweight contender, and still is respected in the weight class - ranking 6th, one sport ahead of Anderson Silva. Silva is considered one of the greatest fighters in MMA history - with his unrelenting style and strength. Silva may be rusty but should be well conditioned and fighting with a chip on his shoulder. Look for Silva to reamind why he is considered one of the greatest fighters of all time in this Saturday’s main event.

Pick: Silva

Gedard Mousasi vs. Thales Leites

Odds: Mousasi -325, Leites +250

Two more Middleweights fill out the top bouts on the Saturday’s card, with 9th ranked Gegard Mousasi and 10th ranked Thales Leites. Mousasi is a very-well rounded fighter with above average defense and a wealth of experience – going 37-6-2 over his career. Leites who lost his last match – after winning his previous 5 – is a top tier fighter on the ground with good stamina but weaker defense than Mousasi. Mousasi’s ability to avoid takedowns should give him the ability to control the match and have the advantage on Saturday.

Pick: Mousasi

Brad Pickett vs. Francisco Rivera

Odds: Pickett +175, Rivera -225

A solid Bantamweight bout rounds out the top matches for bettors this weekend. Francisco Rivera looks to stay in the Bantamweight rankings – after falling down to 15th – with only one win in his last 4 fights. He takes on hometown favourite – Brad Pickett – who, like Rivera, has been struggling in the ring lately with three consecutive losses and only two wins in his last 7 fights. Both fighters rely on striking over anything else and this match is one of the likeliest of the night to go to the judges table. Francisco has better defense but Pickett is from London and should use the crowd and energy to his advantage. For a good underdog pick this weekend, take Pickett.

Pick: Pickett
