UFC Preview: UFC 193 - Rousey vs Holm

Main Event: Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm

Odds: Rousey -2000, Holm +900

It rare to see such large odds for a headlining event, but with how big a star Ronda Rousey has become it is illogical now to have her as anything but the headliner of a main event. Both Rousey and Holly Holm enter Saturday with spotless records – with Rousey being 12-0 in her MMA career, while Holm is almost as impressive at 9-0. Still it is hard to give any fighter much of a chance against Rousey who has won all but one of those 12 matches IN THE FIRST ROUND! Rousey should win this fight with ease, the bigger question is can Holm last the first round and shaken eight ball is coming up with a “not likely.”

Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Valerie Letourneau

Odds: Jedrzejczyk -2250, Letourneau +950

Another women’s championship is on the line Saturday and once again the incumbent is heavily favoured. Jedrzejczyk is a perfect 10-0 in her MMA career, and while not as dominant as Rousey, she is still a very impressive fighter in her own rite. Letourneau is only ranked 8^th in the Women’s Strawweight division, but has been on the rise as of late. Even with her recent success, Jedrzejczyk should leave the “Land Down Under” with the championship in hand.

Robert Whittaker vs. Urijah Hall

Odds: Whittaker +100, Hall -130

Even though the top two fights on the cards are not overly intriguing, that does not mean UFC 193 is lacking some good, close bouts for bettors and fans to get excited about. One of those matches is between Middleweight fighters Urijah Hall and Robert Whittaker. Hall and Whittaker, ranked 10^th and 14^th respectively, are looking to climb the rankings over their next few bouts to enter the illustrious top-5 and aim for a title fight in the foreseeable future. Hall has the advantage in terms of striking and takedowns while Whittaker is the superior defender. Whittaker is fighting close to head –as his native country is New Zealand – but it is hard to give him a home court boost over Hall.
