UFC Preview: UFC Fight Night 79 - Henderson Vs. Masvidal

Main Event: Benson Henderson vs. Jorge Masvidal

Odds: Henderson -260, Masvidal +200

The main event features two Welterweights, but only one of them is a former champion. Benson Henderson has made the jump from Lightweight up to Welterweight hoping to make some noises against the bigger competition. Henderson remains ranked 7^th in the Lightweight rankings but won his first fight in the higher weight class in February of 2015. Masvidal may not have the resume of Henderson, but he is a strong competitor and even better defender. Henderson’s experience fighting lighter and quicker should provide Masvidal with a tough challenge to defend and gives Henderson the edge in Seoul on Saturday.

Dominic Waters vs. Dong Hyun Kim

Odds: Waters +400, Kim -600

The veteran Kim takes on a grappling specialist in the Waters in the fight before the headliner. Waters has only one UFC fight under his belt – a lost in July of 2015. He did not show much outside of his grappling/takedown abilities, but should a chance to showcase some of his other skills. He does remain a sizeable underdog and Kim has the experience, is very well-rounded and has the recent success to handle his young opponent.

Doo Ho Choi vs. Sam Sicilia

Odds: Choi -205, Sicilia +165

Even though the card is loaded with Welterweight there still are a couple of great Featherweights who will be sparing off in one of the main card’s matches. Choi has only one fight in the UFC and it occurred in November of 2014. Even though the fight happened over a year ago, he left his mark on the UFC with an 18 second knockout. Finally healthy enough to fight, Choi looks to make his name grow in the UFC against the respectable Sam Sicilia. Sicilia has won 3 of his last 4 fights but has remains unranked amongst the UFC Featherweights. Sicilia should provide a better challenge for Choi, but look for Choi to have a great night in front of his front crowd.
