They are the current world champions after winning the last World Cup in France 2019 and 2015 back-to-back. They have a very strong squad which includes stars such as Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan and Rose Lavelle, making them the strongest team to beat.
It truly has been a decade of dominance for the United States, who cruised to victory in Canada back in 2015 and in France in 2019 and there have only been three women’s World Cup finals in the history of the competition that haven’t included the USA. Whilst the competition in women’s football is getting stronger, the USA remain the team to beat here in Australia and New Zealand.
This 23-women roster is a young one, with 14 players on the squad competing in their first World Cup.

The current reigning European champions, England's Lionesses are well versed in winning silverware and come into this tournament rightly as one of the favorites.
