Chelsea are an English Premier League team who have enjoyed the majority of their success since billionaire Roman Abramovich took full control of the club, investing heavily in players and staff much to the delight of fans of The Blues.
Six league title trophies are in the Chelsea trophy cabinet. The first came in the 1954-55 season with the other five coming since Abramovich became the club’s owner. Chelsea last won the Premier League during the 2016-17 season and then endured a torrid time in 2017-18, eventually finishing in fifth-place.
The Blues started the 2017-18 season strongly but then fell apart after the new year. During a spell of 12 Premier League games, they only won three times, drew three and lost six times. It was a poor run of form that ultimately resulted in Chelsea not qualifying for the UEFA Champions League and would go on to cost Antonio Conte his job.
Chelsea are now managed by a new head coach in Maurizio Sarri, the former Napoli boss who is known for his tactical knowledge. Sarri brought into two players during the transfer window, spending £72 million on goalkeeper Kepa from Athletic Bilbao to replace the outgoing Thibaut Courtois and defensive midfielder Jorginho who he signed for £51.3 million from his old club Napoli.
Sarri’s team has a wealth of stars, including Eden Hazard, although rumors are rife Hazard will join Real Madrid at some point. Sarri will need to bring in another striker at some point because they only really have Alvaro Morata as a recognised striker and it remains to be seen if the Spaniard has what it takes to fire Chelsea to glory.

Chelsea Season Schedule
The fixture list looks to have been kind to Chelsea this season with no spells where they play the Premier League’s top teams consecutively for a number of games. It is worth considering that Chelsea will be competing in the Europa League this season so are likely to make some changes to their starting line-up if they have a midweek game.

Anything other than a top four finish and a return to the UEFA Champions League will be deemed a failure this season and could cost Maurizio Sarri his job after only one season in charge. Let us take a look if Sarri is on course for this goal by checking out the current Chelsea standings.
How To Win Chelsea Bets
Chelsea fans believe their team has a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title but this is looking at matters through rose tinted spectacles because they are miles away from the fighting Manchester City for the winer’s trophy.
The Blues finished 30 points behind last year’s champions and this season’s transfers, while a step in the correct direction, are not what were needed to bridge that gap.
Eden Hazard was Chelsea’s top scorer during the previous campaign and he only bagged 12 Premier League goals. Hazard is not an out and out striker and neither is Alvaro Morata who Chelsea signed last season for £60 million. Morata scored six goals in his first six games but then only managed four goals in his next 18 games.
Despite an apparent lack of firepower, Chelsea still managed to score 62 goals for an average of 1.63 goals per game, failed to score in only eight games and 21 of their fixtures ended with at least 2.5 goals. Compare this to Man City who scored 106 goals and you can see the difference in class.
On paper, Chelsea will be far too strong for the weaker teams in the division, especially the three newly promoted teams, but they will also be very short-priced favorites in these games. Expect Chelsea to win and keep clean sheets – they kept 16 last season – when they take on teams in the bottom half of the table.
