EPL Week 7 Best Picks

EPL Week 7 Best Picks

The pick of the weekend’s games sees reigning champions Chelsea welcome league leaders Manchester City to their Stamford Bridge home.

Chelsea has lost only two of their previous 10 league meetings against teams who are considered to be the “big six,” of which Man City are one of them. Chelsea did the double over Manchester City last season, winning 2-1 at home and 3-1 away.

The Blues welcome back Eden Hazard to the starting line-up and that is a significant boost for Chelsea. As is the fact they beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 thanks to a last ditch goal to continue their perfect start to the Champions League campaign. Throw into the mix the fact Alvaro Morata is looking sharper with each game he plays and suddenly the +150 on a Chelsea win with Bovada looks a solid bet.

City occupy first place in the Premier League after six games and look like that have the potential to go the distance and win another title. They were at home for their midweek Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk, which they won 2-0, so should be fresh as they didn’t have a long flight to contend with.

Bovada price City as +175 to win and +240 for the draw. We have also noticed odds are available on Sergio Aguero being the first goalscorer at +350 and -105 to score at any time. DO NOT bet on this because Aguero was involved in a minor car accident on Friday morning and looks to have broken a rib, an injury that will keep the Argentinian on the sidelines for up to two months.

Both teams are capable of beating anyone on their day, but I can see this ending in a stalemate. With that in mind, check out the both teams to score and the game ending in a tie at +300 if you are looking for some value.

Red Devils to Clip Eagles’ Wings

Crystal Palace have lost all six of their Premier League games this season and failed to score a single goal. This weekend, the Eagles travel to Manchester United’s Old Trafford and look set to extend that unwanted record.

United are in scintillating form and look almost unstoppable, which doesn’t bode well for lowly Crystal Palace. Having only conceded twice in the Premier League this season, United are solid at the back and devastating going forwards.

Just look at Romelu Lukaku, the summer signing has banged in 14 goal in 11 games to date and we wouldn’t bet against him continuing his impressive run on Saturday. The odds are short, +210 for him to score first and -180 to score during the 90-minutes, but surely Palace cannot stop the giant Belgian.

Some other bets to look at include Manchester United to keep a clean sheet at -215 and my personal favorite, the Manchester United - Manchester United half time / full time result at -175. If you think United will win but Palace will finally score a goals, Bovada will give you odds of +240.

Kane Closing in on Scoring Record

The third match we’re looking at is the lunchtime kickoff on Saturday that sees newly promoted Huddersfield Town take on Tottenham Hotspur. Huddersfield, known as the Terriers, have only conceded three goals in the league this term and David Wagner knows how to set his teams up to frustrate opponents.

Wagner may play a style that will be very defensive minded, but Spurs have a wealth of talent that is capable of opening up even the tightest of defenses and returning home with all three points in the bag.

Spurs may not tear apart Huddersfield, but they will beat them and I like the look of a 2-0 away win at +600. The main man for SPurs will be England international striker Harry Kane who is in ridiculous form at the moment.

Kane bagged a hat trick in Europe midweek and now has his eye on breaking Alan Shearer’s longstanding record of number of goals scored in a calendar year. Shearer scored an incredible 36 goals in 42 games in 1995 for Blackburn Rovers and Kane already has needs another 12 goals in 15 games to surpass Shearer.

Bookmakers are confident that Kane will add to his already impressive tally in this game against Huddersfield, pricing a Kane goal to open the scoring at +200 and to see Kane’s name on the score sheet before the end of 90-minutes at -190.

I for one would not bet against Kane.
